De Blacktie collectie van Bateman Ogden is al 20 jaar mijn favoriete stof boek voor het creëren van een Jacquet en Smoking voor onze klanten.

Waarom? De stoffen hebben een fraai gewicht, o.a 340 gram of meer en vallen daardoor kreukloos en zorgen voor een gedistingeerd silhouet. Daarbij ook stevig gemaakt en niet te glad waardoor het een authentieke Britse klassieke uitstraling geeft.

De morning stripes die in deze collectie zitten zijn een must voor wie een goede broek wenst volgens de etiquette bij zijn Jacquet.

De stof valt dus eigenlijk niet op maar doet waar het voor gemaakt en is zorgt dat degene die het draagt in de aandacht staat. Best wel cruciaal bij blacktie kleding.

De kwaliteit van Gostwyck merino vezels is het resultaat van meer dan 180 jaar van deskundige selectie van merinoschapen die fijnere, zachtere en wittere wol produceren.

Summer Ascot is een wollen stof collectie met eigentijdse ruiten, geschikt voor zowel maatpakken als trouwpakken.

Alle stoffen zijn geweven van een platbinding-constructie en zijn daarom perfect voor de zomermaanden. De platbinding-constructie produceert een stof die veel lichter van gewicht is dan die geweven met een conventionele keperbinding.

De constructie en het gewicht houden het lichaam fris en koel in warme klimaten. Voor velen zijn de stoffen in deze collectie met 250gm de ideale keuze voor het hele jaar door in de meeste klimaten.

De wol micron is 20,5 µ wat zorgt voor kracht en duurzaamheid in de stof. Het garen dat wordt gebruikt is een 60/2 nieuw metrisch garen in zowel de inslag- als de scheerrichting, waardoor een volle, goed afgeronde handgreep mogelijk is. Dit handige garen zorgt ook voor goede drapering en kreukbestendige eigenschappen.

Deze eigenschappen maken het mogelijk om de stoffen gemakkelijk te vormen en maken ze comfortabel om te dragen.

Voor wie 100% puur linnen to much is qua kreuken is er een prachtig alternatief waarbij je wel de natuurlijke ontspannen look van het linnen behoudt maar de stof stukken minder kreukt.

Dat is de wol / linnen / zijde mix. Door de zijde en wol valt de stof veel beter en behoudt deze ook zijn vorm. Vandaar dat deze stof soort ook veel wordt gebruikt voor trouwpakken op maat en colberts.

Uiteraard is de stof ook goed geschikt voor het maken van een bespoke maatpak voor degene die van een smart casual look houdt en /of een Italiaanse look.

De stoffen dragen erg verkoelend, zijn super licht dragend, zijn er in vele kleuren en motieven en zijn fraai te verwerken door de kleermaker. Laat je een jasje / colbert hiervan maken zonder voering dan merk je eigenlijk niet dat je het aan hebt.

Cape Horn Lightweight - Holland & Sherry kostuumstof

Geproduceerd van Patagonische merinowol, is deze collectie een must-have voor degenen die kwaliteit, prestaties en comfort eisen van hun stof.

Een regio van het Zuid-Amerikaanse continent, Patagonië is een dunbevolkt gebied dat ongerept is door de mensheid. De aardse en onvervuilde omgeving zorgt voor voedzame vegetatie en overvloedig vers water voor de inheemse flora en fauna om te gedijen.

Het biedt ook de beste graasomstandigheden voor het fokken van een aantal van 's werelds beste merinoschapen.

Hoog getwijnde stoffen zijn de perfecte keuze voor reis-achtige outfits voor pakken. Deze uitgebreide collectie van klassieke en semi-fancy ontwerpen zijn de perfecte toevoeging aan elke garderobe, vooral voor degenen die vaak de wereld rondreizen.

Linnen stoffen gebruiken we vaak voor trouwpakken of een vest / gilet dat onder het trouwpak gedragen wordt.

Maar we merken dat er toch ook steeds meer pakken en jasjes van gemaakt worden om te dragen in uiteraard warmere temperaturen maar ook steeds meer vanwege de ontspannen mediteraanse look die het met zich meebrengt. Bijvoorbeeld als onderdeel van een Tenue de Ville maar ook gedragen op een spijkerbroek met een mooi op maat gemaakt overhemd voor een avond uit of diner.

1005 linnen zoals deze collectie van Cavani uit Italië kreukt uiteraard en dat vind je de charme of helemaal niks. Wil je toch de linnen look maar minder de kreukels dan is een combinatie van linnen met wol / katoen en /of zijde wellicht een betere optie.

Voorheen zag je met name linnen stoffen voor trouwpakken en maatpakken in effen kleuren en designs. In deze collectie vindt je bijvoorbeeld ook puppytooths/ pied de poules, ruiten, visgraten, hopsack weaves en twills.

Harris Tweed is en blijft een populaire stof in de wereld van bespoke tailoring en stijlvolle herenkleding.

Je hebt zo veel keus dat het me nuttig leek om in deze video gewoon weer eens een bunch, dat is zo een stof boek, met je door te nemen.

Dit is een Harris Tweed collectie van Hardy Minnis, mooi sterk spul om colberts en pakken van te maken met karakter die een leven lang mee gaan.

Voor een warm en zacht jasje - colbert op maat is de Somerset Jacketing collectie van Fox Brothers een uitermate geschikte stofkeuze keuze. Somerset Jacketing stoffen zijn ontworpen voor zowel colberts en jasjes op maat die gedragen kunnen worden als Tenue de Ville of als colbert / jasje op maat in de herfst en winter. De diehard Britse kledingstijl fans vinden ongetwijfeld een reden een jasje op maat gemaakt van deze stoffen ook in de warmere seizoenen te dragen.

Het betreft een Fine Merino wol (100%) die zeer zacht en soepel is. De stof heeft een kleine natuurlijke stretch waardoor er ook goed in bewogen kan worden zonder dat u zich beperkt voelt in uw bewegingsvrijheid. De patronen zijn klassiekers voor een jasje of colbert op maat. Denk aan fraaie patronen zoals Glen checks, Houndstooth, Windowpanes, Herringbones en nog meer voor zowel de liefhebber van klassieke herenkleding als de moderne goed geklede dame of heer. In het kleurenpallet vinden wekleuren terug zoals Forest Green, Chocolate, Denim Blue en Graphite..

Voor casual luxe jasjes en colberts op maat is de Fox Jacketing collectie van Fox Brothers een uitermate geschikte keuze.

Voor jasjes en colberts op maat is de Fox Brothers - "West of England" Fox Tweed 2 collectie een fraaie keuze qua stof.

Fox Tweed is ontworpen voor zowel colberts en jasjes op maat die zowel gedragen kunnen worden als Tenue de Ville of als Outdoor kleding voor bijvoorbeeld de jacht of wie van de Engelse kledingstijl houdt.

De patronen zijn geïnspireerd op de archieven van Fox Brothers en resoneren met de kleuren die je terug vindt op de heide van Somerset. Met prachtige kleuren combinaties zoals een Dark Olive Twill, Russet Herringbone of een Mid-Blue Tweed with Chocolate & Navy Windowpane.

De Alsport Tweed collectie van Hardy Minnis is een van mijn favorieten voor het laten maken van een pak of colbert in Tweed.

De laatste update van de collectie die je in de video ziet bevat echte klassiekers maar ook nieuwe kleurstellingen voor een meer moderne uitstraling. De Tweed stof is gemiddeld 500 gram en daarmee uitstekend geschikt om in de buitenlucht te dragen. Zij het voor de jacht of gewoon op een mooie broek, oftewel het is een stof waar je makkelijk mee kan combineren en goed bruikbaar is voor veel doeleinden. Daarbij is de stof mooi te verwerken en valt deze goed qua pasvorm.

Wil je echt een Britse klassieke stijl dan zijn er ook een aantal 900 grams Tweeds beschikbaar hoewel ik die persoonlijk meer geschikt vind voor een overjas.

En als extra bevat de Tweed collectie ook nog een aantal Donegal Tweeds waar je een prachtig pak, broek of gilet mee op maat kan laten maken.

Je kan deze stof bunch samenvatten als de reden om de regel van 'No brown in town' definitief af te schaffen.

Airesco is a new collection of 3 and 4 ply fabrics woven from a plain weave construction and available in a variety of weights. The relationship between yarn and construction produces a unique fabric very different in character to most other fabrics in the Holland & Sherry collection, whilst the soft contrasting colours produce a palette of classic blues, traditional greys and contemporary reds, greens and aubergine.

The construction and coarse characteristics of the 3 and 4 ply yarns provide the fabric with an open but extremely durable structure that allows light to permeate through the small passage between each thread, and fresh air to flow freely through air pockets created by the intertwining, closely woven, wool fibres. Harris Tweed is a world-renowned woollen textile unique in its use of local materials and hand-crafted techniques. It originates from the beautiful and remote islands of the Outer Hebrides situated off the west coast of Scotland.

Our Harris Tweed collection incorporates traditional, warm, rustic colours, evoking the countryside and outdoor pursuits associated with Britishness.

The Fox Brothers & Co. Mill in Wellington, Somerset was established in 1772 when a local Quaker family brought together the different cottage industries of spinning, weaving and dyeing. Since then the company has gone through many changes but continues to produce fabrics in Wellington. Fox used to supply a hard wearing woollen serge that was sold around the world. The cloth was despatched by horse drawn cart locally and worldwide by sail via Topsham in East Devon. Later production consisted largely of a variety of military uniform fabrics and patented puttees. Today, Fox Brothers produces a wide range of high quality woollen and worsted fabrics including their world famous 'Fox Flannel' for the top fashion houses and Savile Row. Many Fox fabrics are exclusively developed for fashion designers, while other styles are inspired by the extensive Fox archives.

The worsted cloth in this bunch are developed from the Fox archives. These classic styles include hopsack and herringbone blazers, windowpane, glen check and striped suitings as well as small colour & weave patterns. Ideal for timeless, elegant tailoring.

This West of England flannel is woven from fine woollen yarn, spun from soft merino lambswool.

“A vibrant jacket, ispired by the most exciting and colourful Sicilian island, Panarea.” This new fabric collection is dedicated to the jacketing world inspired by Panarea, one of the most iconic and vivid islands in the Mediterranean sea. A smooth touch, combined with unique colours given by the intimate blend of silk and cashmere, makes Panarea an exclusive and rare cloth. The intimate blend of fibres creates a particular light and streaks contrast. The thick section of the yarn donates a rich aspect and enhances the melange effect without losing its soft weight.

An impalpable and precious selection of cloths made with cashmere and silk. The fine worsted yarn, made with the precious Alashan cashmere, is enhanced by the brightness of the super fine silk yarn to which is twisted. The fabric is available with both a plain twill structure and sophisticated tridimensional and geometric pattern. Our creative laboratory designed this collection for in jacketing patterns with colour nuances from classic to fresh pastel perfect for the evening blazer. Because of the different materials composition during the dying process creates a delicate and sophisticated effect.

The pattern is very subtle and we inserted a third silk yarn for adding a particular chromatic aspect.
